My Readers interests

From my survey results, I created a visual collage of what my audience likes and what they would like to see in a music magazine. This is very helpful when thinking about what to feature in my magazine and is good inspiration for my overall style.

Inspiration and research on college and music mags

As inpiration for my college magazine i searched through google to find the work of other students analysing the content, imagary and layout.

The first magazine is comprised of an image of a student at this particular college and is very versitile and bold. It is a good example of what students are interested in and how the layout and style is appealing to people of this age group. I took inspiration from the masthead of this magazine and used it as the my slogan on my magazine.

The colour cordination on this front cover is another component which really makes the image and masthead stand out. It is bold and eye catching, this is something will entice the target audience into reading.

This college magazine appeals to art students for its clean cut and simplistic style of a sketch. Possibly one which a student has created for the magazine.
The masthead and coverlines are very bold and simple, which helps the viewer concerntrate on the main image.
The Artists name is mensioned on the bottom left of the magazine.

I like this style of magazine because it is simple yet eye catching, and has the same elements which i want to include in my magazine- Black and white imagary and bold masthead.

This is another example of the first image, produced by the same college. This is a good example of the varation and in keeping style of the magazine, by just changing the colours of the masthead and background, a new issue can be produced in relation to their topic.

I want my magazine to have this versitile style and in order to do this i must organise my coverlines and masthead in a particular way whereby they will be modern and attractive to the audience.

Magazine Front cover and Contents page

This is the front cover of my magazine. I used the image of myself and Holly in this image and chose a grunge style for music loving students.

I liked the contrast in colours of my magazine cover as it stands out to the viewer.

For my contents page I kept the style of the front cover to keep the attraction of reader as they were appealed by the front cover, so will find the contents just as appealing.

I included gigs, student discounts and editors note features on the contents page.
My Front CD Cover
After finally completing my CD cover I am proud to promote my work ^_^
This is an image of myself which was taken in the college Cafe.
I remember feeling very grumpy and this has obviously shown through in my features, however, this also promotes the genre of my album - Indie/Rock.
The album is called stripped of fury and the way that i have demonstrated the band name, was to tweek around with the contrast of my photo and also use the dodge tool at the bottom of the image. The outcome of the image liturally looks like the photo has been 'stripped' of its original colour.
I think my cover is effective because it is eye-catching and shows alot of detail.

My Back CD Cover
The back of my CD cover is to illustrate the track list and also give abit of emotion to the album, as my front cover is very clinical but detailed, I wanted something to give the whole album abit of style.
As both images are very varied, I figured this would intrigue my audience further into investigating about the album.
The original image was that of Jasmine in front of the lift. The way she was standing gave me a great opportunity to fiddle around with text within the original image.
As well as add additional images, I changed the background colour, used the history brush over the black and white effect and played around with curves. Overall this gave me a great outcome as all the small details formed a bold and eyecatching image.
