HeadStock Free Poster

This piece was an original design to my front cover. After completing this I decided to change the whole design altogether as I felt that it had more elements of a poster rather than a magazine layout. When creating my new design for a front cover I wanted to keep this work as inspiration and ideas for my new layout, so I featured this as a poster within my magazine.

final edits on magazine

Here are my final pieces, after reviewing my original posts i decided make a few small changes on my pages. On the front cover I felt that it needed a website, additional font underneath the images, and a more realistic price to the magazine. Also on the DPS the font wasn't visable for the reader. When editing this I considered changing the font colour but then used a shape behind the text instead, which made the text stand out even more. I made a slight change to the main image of the frontman using a stroke effect to contrast the colours and effects used within the page.

Masthead Designs

This is the final design for my Double Page Spread. I have used images from the Gig on the 17th and have incorperated my design around the contrast and textures of these images. I have used a consistant house style throughout my magazine, which is mainly a sepia tint which is used alot on my Front cover. For the text I have also considered what colours would work with my background colour, as i have used black and white. By working around this problem i used strokes on my text which is easier for the viewer to see and also depict which comments are from the band/journalist. I used a few brushes from 'psbrushes.net' Which conveyed a theme of hands and melting liquid. This matched the image of the band's front vocalist as the title is dripping onto him, making him appear to turn into liquidized metal.
This is the Final design for my contents page. When finishing my Front cover I could determine what to feature on my Contents page and what colours would work and what wouldn't. In keeping with the house style i used a sepia tint on the images and shapes. When thinking about my background, I wanted to keep a clean and contemperary style, so that the viewer wouldnt be confused with a busy page and could find pages within the magazine fairly easy. I knew what theme i was going to use throughout my magazine, and that was to create a liquidized style which would feature in some way on each page. By using the 'waterfall effect' on the right side of my page, gave my double page spread a starting point in style and design.
This is the final design for my Front cover. Although I didnt intend on using Jasmine on my Front cover, the colours
within image helped me decide the colours i wanted to use on the page and also helped with my final house style and theme. When sketching my Flat plans, I knew that i wanted my front cover to be mainly pictorial, as my inspiration was from Q I wanted to achieve the style of having a striking image covering most of the page and to use text around this image.
After completing the background style I applied text from 'dafont.com' and added images which would feature in the magazine (double page spread). I used many filters and effects on my front cover, to achieve a bold and eyecatching look whilst presenting detail in context with my style.
